How we work
Kizuna methodology
An integrative approach at the service of the person and their context.
At Kizuna we combine clinical assessment, psychotherapeutic intervention, and long-term support. Every plan starts from the person — their context, their history, and their goals — and is built using techniques of proven efficacy.
Theoretical foundation
The Kizuna methodology is developed from Kenneth Thomas's theoretical model of conflict dynamics, in which "dynamics" is defined as a sequence of episodes: awareness of conflict, thoughts and emotions, intentions, behaviours, and outcomes.
We develop the concepts of positions, needs, and interests in observable terms, using the pyramid as an ideogram to convey the internal structure of conflict and to establish a de-escalation dynamic that leads to agreement.
Kizuna favours negotiation and cooperation as constructive styles of conflict management and resolution — intrapersonal, interpersonal, intra-group, inter-group, and inter-organisational.
The therapeutic process step by step
-
1
First contact and assessment
Active listening to understand the reason for consultation, your life history, and the areas to work on. No clinical diagnosis: the focus is on understanding what you need.
-
2
Personalised plan
We design a tailored pathway: individual therapy, group therapy, or combined programmes. Clear goals and concrete tools for each session.
-
3
Intervention and support
In-person or online sessions with ongoing follow-up and plan adjustments as you progress. Focused on autonomy and on results that are sustained over time.
-
4
Closure and prevention
Consolidating what you've learned, maintenance strategies, and relapse prevention. The door stays open for follow-up sessions.
